English Karate Structure - New EKF Board Elected for 2008/2009
The following is an announcement from the English Karate Federation following their AGM held on the 16th March 2008
The EKF board is pleased to announce that we had over 68% of the members support and vote at the AGM held at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham Airport on Sunday 16 March 2008.
The meeting was very positive, with the outgoing board being thanked for their hard work and efforts in developing EKF to date.
The President, Carl Lindley presented the Annual Report detailing the developments to date, our advances and improvements, and informing the members of addition work currently under way, and additionally ongoing work which should be complete in the near future.
The Finance Director, John Gilliland updated the members on the healthy status of the EKF, listing all income and expenditure for the members consideration.
As is usual at AGM meetings, the members were invited to nominate beforehand individuals whom they felt would assist in the future development and ongoing work of EKF. The elected Board of Directors for 2008/2009 are:

- John Gilliland
- Ticky Donovan OBE
- John De Bono
- Chris Thompson
- Andrew Genery
- Mick Billman
- Les Cutting
All resolutions included within the agenda set for the meeting were accepted unanimously with no votes against and no abstentions.
During the meeting, members were invited to raise questions on issues to be voted upon, which were subsequently answered to their satisfaction.
Whilst it is unusual to have Any Other Business, this was included to ensure the members were permitted to raise issues for consideration which would be directed to the Board of Directors, it is intended in future to hold an AGM followed by an EGM to permit open debate and allow additional issues to be considered whilst ensuring full transparency and allowing direction from the members to the board if applicable.
