English Karate Structure - Ticky's Open Course

Ticky Donovan will be hosting his annual Open Summer Course at the Seawick Holiday Village, St. Osyth Beach, near Clacton on Sea, Essex from the 21st June to 28th June 2008.

Ticky Donovan OBE 8th Dan is the founder and Chief Instructor of Ishinryu Karate. He is also an appointed delegate on the interim Board of the English Karate Federation (National Governing Body of Karate)

Ticky is the current England National Squad Director and is renowned as the 'Worlds Most Successful Coach'. Often heard to say "make it happen".

Ticky holds an annual summer intensive training course in St Osyth, Clacton-on-Sea during the third week of June. This course gives any Karate-ka from any style of Karate the chance to train solidly for 6 days with some of the best Instructors in the World.

Course Details

  • Arrival
    Arrive at Seawick Holiday Village on Saturday 21st June 2008 - meeting will be held on the green at 19:00 hrs. Training will commence on the Sunday at 07:30 hrs.
  • Training
    The weeks training will consist of basic Katas, Combinations, Fighting Techniques and special Competition Techniques. Please bring track suit and trainers.
  • Gradings
    Grading for all grades up to and including 1st Dan, 2nd Dan, 3rd Dan, 4th Dan at the end of the course (Ishinryu Karate-ka). Additional fee will be charged for Dan gradings.
  • The Marathon
    Summer Course Fun Run!
  • Disco
    As well as nightly entertainment there is the popular mid week disco and fancy dress. There is also a 'last night' disco and awards presentation.
  • Competitions
    There will be Individual Tournaments for seniors and juniors in both Kumite and Kata.
  • Diplomas
    Each student receives a Diploma on the completion of the course.
  • Final Bow
    On the Friday evening everybody will assemble on the green for the Final Bow where Sensei Donovan presents the Instructors and Students of the Week Awards and the Competitor of the Week Award.
  • Fees
    Seniors £90 and Juniors (under 15) £85 - fees as listed until 31st May after that date the cost will be Seniors £95 and Juniors £90. Cheques are payable to Mr D Donovan (no refunds). Seawick Holiday Village is a chalet and caravan park situated 500 yards from the sea at St. Osyth Beach, whose facilities include heated fun pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, etc, nightly parties, sports field, bar and restaurant.

Meals - There will be a set breakfast and evening meal available in the restaurant.
