The AMA is affiliated to WCJJO, JJIF, WTF, ICKF, WAKO, and WKEA. Many styles co-exist within the AMA. Some follow the traditional styles and curricula; some combine to form new ways. All this is quite valid so long as the teaching, training, and curriculum can be approved, and so long as the Dan or Master degree achieved can hold up with the best in any style. AMA has every style of martial art including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Malaysian, Thai, Indian, Modern freestyle, and self-defence. The styles have ad-hoc committees, which meet as required. This group is affiliated directly to the English Karate Federation.
ASK - Academy of Shotokan Karate
Chairman and Chief Instructor
Dave Hazard 7th Dan
Website:
www.academyofshotokankarate.com
The ultimate aim of the organisation is to provide for its members a forum that will allow them to achieve their true potential through the practise of Traditional Shotokan Karate-Do.
The Academy of Shotokan Karate was formed in 2003 by Sensei Dave Hazard, the current National Kata Coach for the English Karate Governing Body (EKGB) and started accepting members in 2004.
The ASK encourages and provides the facilities for its members to compete at the most senior levels both Nationally and Internationally.
Sensei Hazard in forming the ASK felt that he needed an environment that would allow him personally to evolve his approach to Shotokan Karate-Do. This was endorsed by the late Great Keinosuke Enoeda Sensei, who was Sensei Hazard teacher.
Enoeda Sensei’s influences and principles will always remain at the heart of the ASK.
The ASK has a national infer-structure and an emerging International affiliate members program.
The Academy is growing at an internally controlled rate to provide quality instruction based on developing the individual and supported by an extremely experienced team of Senior Teachers.
This group is affiliated directly to the English Karate Federation.
