Gakushuin Karate practise Shotokan. Gakushuin Instructors are all required to undergo an enhanced CRB check, and annually attend instructor courses to ensure they are up to date with aspects of coaching such as Child Protection, Social Equality, physical impairment etc.
John was an appointed delegate on the interim Board of the English Karate Federation (National Governing Body of Karate) 2007/08.
He is also an appointed delegate on the Board of the English Karate Federation (National Governing Body of Karate) 2008/09.

The club can be found at The forum at Greenwich (church building), Trafalgar Road, SE10 9EQ
and is held every Tuesday at 6pm - 7pm and every Sunday at 4.30pm - 6 pm. Student numbers have been steadily increasing over the last 3 years since it started.
