In 1994 Peter decided to form ‘SenShinRyu’ (head, heart, body & mind) in conjunction with two of his former students Mike O’Brien 4th Dan & Lee Skinner 4th Dan.
SenShinRyu Karate now has over 6 clubs in the South West area with affiliates in the North of England and Wales. They have over 500 students and have a achieved a successful young Kumite squad that are eager to compete, ably led by their Kumite Coach Sensei Lee Skinner. Their Kata squad is managed by Sensei O’Brien.
Peter concentrates his time on successfully training and encouraging new SenShinRyu Instructors through the ranks, he feels that it is not only truly challenging and demanding for their future sampie’s (high grades) to run their own successful clubs but the only way forward for the growth, future and success of his style.
Peter was an appointed delegate on the interim Board of the English Karate Federation (National Governing Body of Karate) 2007/08.
This group is affiliated directly to the English Karate Federation.

SHUHARI-KAI is a family orientated Club specialising in Traditional Karate and Weapon tuition. The traditional style of 'Wado-Ryu', as taught by Professor Hironori Otsuka (founder of Wado-Ryu) to his students including Professor Tatsuo Suzuki (head of WIKF), is taught and practised. This provides a unique sense of tradition and belonging.
Tuition is provided by fully insured and qualified Instructors. Japanese commands and instructions are progressively taught during the lessons thereby allowing the Karate to develop not only as a physical discipline but also a mental one.
A friendly atmosphere is created with weekends away and a Summer and Autumn camp each year. Parties and social events have been hosted for the students and their families and there is always the infamous Halloween Party to look forward to every year!
Special courses are often arranged where a specialist guest (such as Professor Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan Hanshi (head of WIKF) and Leon Walters (World Kumite Champion)) are invited to teach the students.
Unlike other clubs, they are not a business orientated club. They do not charge a joining fee and their lessons are at affordable prices with most of the money going back into the Club to buy equipment such as weapons for students to learn, mats, kickbags, etc. Unlike other clubs, their lessons last between one-and-a half hours and two hours allowing the students a greater opportunity to learn whilst providing exceptional value for money. Most gradings are conducted at the Student's Club when they are ready removing the need for extra travel or extra training sessions.
They have entered many Local and National Competitions and have won many trophies and medals, with the club containing former and current National Champions. Shuhari-Kai is a fully affiliated club and is affiliated to the English Karate Federation through Shorai Karate do International.
